Mardi was born in March 1970.  Mardi's father is Walter Jeffrey Watson and her mother is Margaret Mary McKenzie.  Her maternal grandparents were Harold John McKenzie and Ethel Margaret Kenna.  She has a brother and a sister, named Antony and Tania.  She is the second oldest of the three children.
