Peter was born in May 1961.  Peter's father is Alfred George (Alf) Toovey and his mother was Dorothy Joan (Topsy) Brown.  His maternal grandparents were Lindsay Murdock Graham Snushall and Margaret Ellen (Nell) McGlenchy.  He has four brothers and eight sisters, named Edward, John, Dorothea, Alan, Judith, Maxine, Pauline, Kay, Julia, Susan, Denise and Sharon.  He is the eleventh oldest of the thirteen children.
