Harold was born in 1891.  Harold's father was Robert Joseph William Stynes and his mother was Mary Anne Somers.  His paternal grandparents were William John Stynes and Mary Anne McDonald.  He had five brothers and two sisters, named Walter, Robert, Harry, Reginald, Charles, Alice and Lilian.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died in 1891.
