Samuel was born on March 10th, 1885.  Samuel's father was George Pownall and his mother was Emma Jane McDonald.  His paternal grandparents are About Family Tree Pownall and Pownall Family Tree About; his maternal grandparents were Joseph McDonald and Margaret Winterbottom.  He had two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Samuel, Margaret and Harriet.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 6 on July 26th, 1891.
