Arthur was born in 1911.  Arthur's father was John McGlenchy and his mother was Agatha Evelyn Jenkins.  He had a brother and four sisters, named Wilfred, Margaret, Catherine, Ruby and Mary.  He was the fifth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 69 in 1980.
