Cecelia was born in February 1916.  Cecelia's father was William Herbert McDonald and her mother was Margaret Mary Hurley.  Her paternal grandparents were James McDonald and Charlotte Warren; her maternal grandparents are Martin Hurley and Mary Cosgrove.  She had a brother and three sisters, named Clive, Irene, Kathleen and Charlotte.  She is the youngest of the five children.
