Mary was born in 1873.  Mary's father was Cornelius Kenna and her mother was Margaret Nisdale.  Her paternal grandparents are John Kenna and Mary McReady; her maternal grandparents are Jas Nisdale and Catherine Moran.  She had four brothers and five sisters, named Edmund, James, John, Michael, Bridget, Catherine, Theresa, Margaret and Johanna.  She is the third oldest of the ten children.
