David was born in October 1951.  David's father was Allan Jenkins and his mother is Kathleen Mary (Betty) Kenna.  His maternal grandparents were John Francis (Jack) Kenna and Ethel Mary Murphy.  He has two brothers and two sisters, named Ross, Peter, Heather and Lorraine.  He is the third oldest of the five children.
