Henry, known as Harry, was born on December 4th, 1872.  Harry's father was Ebenezer James Dawson and his mother was Eliza Gateland.  His paternal grandfather was William Dawson and his paternal grandmother is Anne Lydia Barrett; his maternal grandparents were James Gateland and Hanna (Anna/Anne) Potaskie.  He had three brothers and ten sisters, named James, Ebenezer, Basil, Grace, Minnie, Cecilia, Amy, Eva, Gertrude, Rose, Blanche, Euphemia and Winnifred.  He was the eighth oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 82 on April 7th, 1955.
